about this district Atwima Nwabiagya District is one of the largest districts in the Ashanti Region. The  District lies approximately on latitude 6o 75’N and between longitude 1o 45’ and 2o 00’ West. It is one of the 27 political and administrative Districts in Ashanti Region. It is situated in the Western part of the region and shares common boundaries with Ahafo Ano South and Atwima Mponua Districts (to the West), Offinso Municipal to the North, Amansie–West and Bosomtwe-Atwima Kwanwoma Districts to the South, Kumasi Metropolis and Kwabre Districts to the East. It covers an estimated area of 294.84 sq km. The district capital is Nkawie.   chief executive's message The District has a number of industries engaged in the production of various items. There are 126 settlements in the district and all major towns are hooked unto the National Power Grid which aids in the industrial development. Agriculture holds a great potential in the district with the rivers and streams providing opportunities for small scale irrigation and fishing.
